Kate AutyProfessor Kate Auty is the ACT Commissioner for Sustainability and the Environment and a Professorial Fellow with the University of Melbourne. Kate chairs the Banksia Foundation Ltd and is a Business Council of Sustainable Development Australia director.
David BarmonDavid Barmon is president of Epilogue LLC, a company that mills urban trees into lumber, and co-owns Fiddlehead LLC, a Portland, Oregon-based landscape construction and consulting company which promotes an integrated approach to food, forestry and water.
Cris BrackAssociate Professor Cris Brack is based at the ANU Fenner School of Environment and Society and has worked in the trans-disciplinary area of “forestry” for over two decades. He is also a Director of the National Arboretum Canberra and Chief Scientist of the ANU Research Forest at the Arboretum.
Ashley EriksmoenAshley Eriksmoen is Head of the Furniture Workshop at ANU School of Art & Design. Her practice spanning critical design, furniture and sculpture is focussed on the re-appropriation of reclaimed timber. Conceptually, her works address environmental pressures on natural resources and wildlife habitats.

Springing from this work, he created the first Timber Repurposing Guidelines in Melbourne and has been actively engaged in working with State Government on Urban Forest planning.
Image PlaceholderGwilym Griffiths is the Urban Forest Manager at Inner West Council, Sydney which manages 80,000 public trees. We have developed several programs that have utilised timber from trees under our care. These programs have focused on partnerships with local community organisations and have involved subsided wood working classes using the timber from Council trees.
Bethany HannahBethany Hannah is the Program Manager for the Sacramento Tree Foundation’s urban wood rescue program. Salvaging and repurposing this wood adds a new dimension to Sacramento’s legacy as a City of Trees and helps extend the value and benefits of the urban forest. Bethany has a small business background and currently holds a Master of Environment Studies degree in wildland fire management and communications, and a Bachelor of Arts in literature and political ecology.
David Mac LarenDavid Mac Laren is a local craftsman with 45 years’ experience in woodworking and design. He designed a spinning top product in the celebration of the Centenary of Canberra, called Capital Spin. It was made from salvaged Canberra trees and is a piece of local history. His recent work in architectural spaces and further increased his engagement with urban tree salvage and use.
Shane RattenburyMinister Shane Rattenbury holds the portfolio for Climate Change and Sustainabulity in the ACT Legislative Assembly. He is a member of the ACT Greens and as Minister for Climate Change, Shane is implementing the ACT’s ambitious climate change agenda. He has overseen the ACT commission of several wind and solar farms, which will push the territory closer to achieving its 100% renewable electricity target by 2020.

Christopher SteelMinister Christopher Steel holds three portfolios: the Ministry for Community Services and Facilities, the Ministry for Transport and City Services and the Ministry for Multicultural Affairs in the ACT Legislative Assembly. He is a member of the ACT Labor Party and has worked extensively on the Woden Regeneration project.
Jennifer SzeligaJennifer Szeliga Jennifer Szeliga is the Director of Urban Forest Renewal at the Sacramento Tree Foundation. The Sacramento Tree Foundation is a community benefit organization working to build healthy, livable communities in the Sacramento region by growing the best urban forest in the nation. In this role, Jennifer oversees the Tree Foundation’s Urban Wood Rescue, native tree mitigation, and environmental restoration programming.
